BEFORE THE COACHING
APPOINTMENTS
You may schedule an appointment for different reasons : You would like to request a customized training program. You still need to define your learning objectives. You have some questions regarding the procedures. No fees involved. If you decide you want to register, an estimate may be issued.
You should shedule a testing appointment before the first session. The coaching can be scheduled to happen live and via an online webconference (therefore you will need to be equipped at least with a computer, an internet connection and have a valid email address).
TESTING FACILITIES
You may schedule by email or by phone but you may not take the coaching on the day of your first appointment without having a previously scheduled appointment. Choose the time that is most convenient for you and the instructor will give you an appointment confirmation coaching date.
Once you have made an appointment by email or over the telephone, the scheduling process is complete. You will not receive an e-mail with this information unless you request it. Be sure to be online at least 5 min before your scheduled Coaching for CHECK IN procedures.
OFFICIAL IDENTIFICATION
On the day of the Coaching, you MUST present :
-official, valid and photobearing identification (National Id card, passport). Your ID will be checked before the coaching begins. Expired or photocopied ID are not acceptable (must contain an official seal). If your ID is at your embassy for renewal or not available to you for any reason, you will have to wait to make an appointment for the coaching until your ID is returned to you.
-an appointment confirmation email will be sent to you when you schedule your appointment. Cellular phones, beepers, pagers and watch alarms must be silenced during the coaching. In case you want to CANCEL a coaching appointment Please contact EYG TRAINING no more than 2 days before the coaching appointment.
EYG COACHING 101
The purpose of the coaching is to evaluate your English proficiency. Please be aware that the coaching is not based on specific courses of study.
CONDITIONS AND COMPUTER SKILLS NEEDED
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRE-COACHING TEST SECTIONS
The entry test has five main sections and is designed to evaluate the main SKILLS :
-GRAMMAR and STRUCTURE to measure your abilty to recognize the language that is appropriate for standard written English. The entry test combines several question types : jumbled, matching, gap fillers, multiple-choice question.
-A short test of SPOKEN English designed to evaluate your general oral proficiency (the test will consist of conversation discussing subj and the instructor will provide you with the assigned topics ( selected from a pool of topics))
-LISTENING comprehension: to measure your ability to understand English (International).You will hear an excerpt of a recording (main ideas and important detail).
-READING : to measure your ability to understand a passage from a simple/an academic text. You will read a variety of passages on an academic subject and answer a set of questions about the text.
-WRITING : to measure your ability to write English. You will be assigned a topic selected from a pool of topics (you can either handwrite or type your answer on the computer). Do not write on a topic different from the one assigned.
All sections are compulsory and all test takers are tested on similar skills. POINTERS regarding the TEST question types For each question in the test, you need to read the directions that are in the test carefully so that you use your time wisely. Do not spend too much time on a single question. Answer every question in each section. Make your choice confirm your answer and move on to the next question until you complete the test. Please note that you will not be allowed to go back to a previous question.
PRACTICE PRIOR TO ENTRY TEST No preparation is required before taking the test. You may practice before the test although you should be aware that the purpose of the EYG TRAINING program is to help you achieve language proficiency.
The entry test takes approximately thirty minutes to complete. Use this information to check your progress so that you will finish all of the questions before the time runs out. EYG TRAINING conducts the written and spoken part of the test remotely.
METHODS OF PAYMENT:
Payment must be in EUROS only and payable at a bank in France. You may pay by credit card or bank wire transfer. Do not send cash. Please provide your complete credit card information and if you are paying by credit card, write the number of your VISA, Mastercard or American express card. Enter the month and year of your card’s expiration date in the spaces indicated. The total amount due will be calculated automatically and billed to your account.
For 4 hours MODULES you may submit half the amount (deposit ) before the beginning of the coaching. The balance may be submitted later on before the end of the coaching.
Please note : No coaching will be performes unless payment is received. No refund policy.
AFTER THE TEST
REPORTING test results
The scores are based on your performance on the questions presented and the number of questions you answered.
Immediately following the test, your total scores will be shown to you as SCORE RANGES because the Writing section will not yet have been read and rated. Your score from all sections will be combined. All sections will be rated by the instructor.
One week after you take the test, your score report can be mailed to you. Under no circumstance can score reports be sent any earlier. The printed score report will contain all the sections scores.
Some score reporting may take longer due to difficulties with computer transmission problems. If you have not received your scores within one week please make sure to send us an e-mail. However, if you would like to know your scores by phone you may contact EYG TRAINING between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
